A mentor once told me this, when I complained about the unreasonable arrest of RPK, Teresa Kok and Tan Hoon Cheng under ISA in September 2008:

I have the same feeling again this time after reading about what's happening in Perak.... someone is becoming more and more impatient...

Perak speaker informs EC of vacant seats
Perak assembly speaker V Sivakumar today officially informed the state election commission chief of the vacancy of Changkat Jering and Behrang state seats.

V SivakumarYesterday Sivakumar (left) announced that the seats have become vacant after incumbents - Jamaluddin Mat Radzi (Behrang) and Osman Jailu (Changkat Jering) - tendered their resignation with immediate effect.

Duo say it again, we've not quit
The two PKR politicians at the centre of a political storm today denied that they have stepped down as being state representatives as claimed by Perak state assembly speaker yesterday.

Both Jamaluddin Mohd Radzi and Osman Jailu issued statements through their representatives at separate press conferences to insist that they remain the elected representatives for Behrang and Changkat Jering respectively.

Jamaluddin was to have faced the media for the first time since the controversy erupted to clarify the matter.

However he was represented by his special officer Firdaus Saharuddin (photo) and another unidentified person.

"We are sorry to inform you that YB Jamaluddin cannot attend today's press conference due to illness (backache). It is not that he has disappeared or been 'taken away'," Firdaus told reporters.

Osman also denied going to the speaker's house to deliver his resignation letter.

"I am still the state assemblyperson for Changkat Jering and until now there is no question of me defecting to any other party," he said in his statement.

He also hoped that Pakatan leaders, especially from his own party PKR, will stop making defamatory statements against him.

His representative Puzi Ghazali (photo) also said Osman has been unwell and is on medical leave, hence his absence.

"He has been to the hospital. He will come out soon," he said.

Osman has earlier today lodged a police report through a representative on the matter at the Shah Alam district police station

He said that Osman suffered from fever and cough in the past couple of days.

Police report: 'Osman has not resigned'
A man claiming to represent Changkat Jering representative Mohd Osman Jailu has lodged a police report denying that he has resigned as state assemblyperson in Perak.

The report was lodged at the Shah Alam district police station at 1.30am today.

In the report, the representative claimed that Mohd Osman (left) has denied submitting a letter of resignation, and further described media reports on this as ‘false and out to confuse the public’.

'Najib promised RM50mil for defections'
PKR Ipoh Barat division head Fauzi Muda has leveled the damning claim that Umno deputy president Najib Abdul Razak had tried last year to induce him to secure the crossover of two Pakatan Rakyat representatives in Perak.

Fauzi said he had been offered a total of RM50 million for his services and to pay off those he managed to convince, but that he had remained non-committal.

“Thereafter, I was taken to Najib (Abdul) Razak’s residence in Putrajaya, where he tried to persuade me to lobby for the crossover of two PR assemblymen to BN,” said Fauzi.

“I was promised RM50 million in return for my services and told that I would be allowed to allocate (part of) the money (to the assemblypersons) as I wished.”

Even the police report was made by a representative......

Should we have only by-elections or a fresh state election?

Santa Claus is coming to town (UPDATED with poll and Statutory Declaration)
Today, one Perak Wakil Rakyat from Pakatan Rakyat signed a Statutory Declaration to say that they offered him RM50 million to cross over to Barisan Nasional (See: SURAT AKUAN FAUZI MUDA). Later today he is going to lodge an official report with the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC). If, later, I get a copy of it, I will upload it below this article. (Also see: Kenyataan Akhbar YB Arumugam, ADUN Bkt Selambau).

Dear MB Perak, dissolve the Perak State Assembly and hold fresh state elections. Then, once and for all, embark on a house-cleaning exercise and get rid of the riff-raff. After that you can settle down and concentrate on running the state instead of constantly looking over your shoulders, wondering who is going to next cross over to Barisan Nasional. Sure, you need a lot of money to do this. But trust the Rakyat. The Rakyat will come forward to help you with the required finances. I will start the ball rolling by personally pledging RM30,000.

No doubt RM30,000 is far short of RM30 million. But it is a start. More will come in once you dissolve the Perak State Assembly and call for fresh state elections. The Rakyat will help pay for the cost of burying Barisan Nasional once and for all.

Over to you Boss. May you decide on the right thing for Perak.
