The Blissful Abode :: Kelantan

There were ceramahs at the Ocean Restaurant yesterday hosted by DAP.

Many stood up and clapped when Zaid Ibrahim and RPK arrived.

It was full house.

Tok Guru Nik Aziz was there too. There were cheers and claps from the floor when it was his turn to speak.

More on his speech here: The sons of Adam

As he were leaving, people stood up in respect...

Zaid Ibrahim also spoke.

.. and ended his speech by saying...

"You can vote for BN or PAS, but if it's me, I'll vote for Pakatan.."

More here:
NIGHTCALLER, WHEREVER YOU ARE......THIS IS FOR YOU.
Zaid Ibrahim joins in the fray for Pas

My favourite speaker for that night is...

Mr. Anuar Tan, ADUN of Kota Lama, Kelantan.

He captured the audience attention with his witty sense of humour. He related to us on how the state of Kelantan is run.

He told us that in Kelantan there is already a Mazu statue, unlike Sabah whereby the former Chief Minister resigned in protest as a member of Musa’s cabinet last April because, his proposal to build a Mazu statue was rejected (more here and here).

On top of that, Kelantan have various Buddha statues; sleeping, reclining and sitting. In fact, its sleeping Buddha is the longest one in South East Asia, it can be found in Wat Photivihan, in Tumpat.

...so is the giant sitting Buddha statue...

While in Selangor, its former state government under UMNO-led BN demolished Indian temples, in Kelantan, lands were given to the Indian community to build their temples. So, you decide, which party practices freedom of religion? PAS or UMNO?

YB Anuar also mentioned many people praised him for the work he done for the Chinese community in Kelantan. However, he humbly said that he is neither smart nor intelligent. But he's lucky because his Menteri Besar is a very kind person. All he needs to do is just to whisper gently to his MB, and all shall be done... :) There's no such thing as "No" in his dictionary.

His MB is a very fair person and treats everyone equally, be it Malay, Chinese or Indian. We're all one family....

"The Kelantanese people, regardless of ethnic origin, are very proud of their state and its unique local culture and dialect.

All the ethnicities generally live together harmoniously in Kelantan. For example, members of the Thai community received a permit to build a very large statue of the Buddha without any objection from the Malay community or the PAS government that granted the permit."

Terima kasih Tuan Guru.
