Talk is cheap.

Tears rolled down as I watched the tribute by Beng Hock's fiancee here.

Many are angry at what happened to Beng Hock.

Many are saying that they have lost confidence in the Malaysian police and the MACC. The public will not accept whatever investigation done by the Police.

Hence, many requested for a Royal Commission of Inquiry to be set up...

They want truth and justice to prevail.

They talked and ranted about their anger and anguish at this unfortunate episode.

But, they only talk about it. They talked and they complained. Talk is cheap.

How many actually walk their walk?

There are about 15,611 members and counting in the "Justice for Comrade Beng Hock" Facebook group. This group demands for answers and detailed explanation for his demise. They demanded for justice.

Yet, when it is time to show supports, how many actually walk their talk???

Some 500 people gathered outside the MACC building holding candlevigils to mourn Beng Hock's death on Thursday.

About 300 people demanded for proper investigation to be done on Friday morning, outside MACC building.

800 people turned up at the Memorial service in Seri Kembangan on the same night.

3000 packed the Kelana Jaya Stadium on Sunday afternoon, in memory of Beng Hock.

More than 2000 people bid farewell to Beng Hock in Malacca yesterday.

What happened to the growing number of 15, 611 members of the Facebook group, "Justice for Comrade Beng Hock"??? Where were they???

How will the government take us seriously when the people themselves are not willing to show support in the events demanded justice for Beng Hock???

Imagine if this growing number of 15, 611 members of the Facebook group, "Justice for Comrade Beng Hock" were there at the protest? What would the result be???

We need an unbiased MACC to ensure a sense of justice for all Malaysians. The MACC should be investigating blatant corruption cases like Port Klang Free Trade Zone and Toyo's mansion. Instead, they focus on small misdeeds that appears politically motivated. The MACC needs to be reformed so that death under detention does not occur.

Normally, I would not attend such functions but this round I was outraged by the senseless death of the late Teoh Beng Hock within the compounds of the MACC that I attended the gathering at Kelana Stadium.

This is a coordinated sweeping down on the PR Selangor state government by the agencies of UMNO that is so shameful that the BN/UMNO has no more credibility in them.

In fact BN is losing a lot of ground that they are resorting to unfair, underhand , unethical means and ways to unseating a duly elected government which is 100 times better than themselves that they feel threatened.

yes, you are absolutely right why don't you suggest on ways to get the current government? lets do a bloody protest? something more violent than may 13? we need someone to lead and the rest will follow.

The 15k plus facebook group members are probably spread out across the country so may not be possible for them all to be present at the same time.

I was at the Kelana rally. Seated next to Tricia's mom. Saw you with your church friends and snapping photos.

Pray that the rakyat will speak up and not rest until the truth is revealed and justice is done.

Keep up the idealism!

Yes, you are correct.

NATO, no action talk only, could be the weakest link for those who want change.

Change does not come from the pulpit alone. People need to stand up and vote with their feet too, marching against evil.

Get involve. Organize.

No doubt you have stated your points eloquently.

But the logistics and reality of doing something about this is possible effectively only politically , meaning a political party like the PR. Are the people concerned ready to be involved and/or take up politics ? That is the right question !

Not through facebook which is a social networking site.

Walk the Talk. Lady, it is easier said than done, when you are confronted by the might of subverted national enforcement machinery, walk becomes slow and weak.It is easier to talk in front of you lap top.
What we witness is only the surface - another custodial death.Think a little deeper, you will realize that it is something more sinister and horrifying - prelude to another coup d'etat like in Perak only this time it was suppose to happen in Selangor.Something went wrong and Beng Hock died, that is where their plan went awry. Think about it.

You are very right. Talk is cheap.

I think Malaysians need to show their disgust to the authorities in an orderly manner (to put pressure on those goons) but what is most important is for all eligible Malaysians to use the ballot box to show the BN that the RAKYAT are the ultimate boss.

But, I fear it may be too late by the time the next GE is here.

I am praying that common sense (or rather good sense) will prevail and things will only get better from now on.

My father was there at Kelana Jaya last Sunday and would have joined him except that I had to fly off from KL on Saturday.

All of our hearts ache for the deceased and his family.

What walk the talk are you people ranting about???

When Darren Kang was beaten to death by Nazri's son, how come none of you came forward and walk that talk???

Kugan got beaten to death while in police custody ... only the indians came forward, the rest of you lot stayed home.

Why???? Why the double standards?

Darren Kang, Kugan etc etc ... you people kept quiet. Your silence resulted in another death ... Teoh.

Dont tell me about walking the talk. Please la. Ceramahs, vigils, petitions aint gonna change anything.

Don't get so "holier than thou" la ... it was a one off gathering called at the spur of the moment.
When we had vigils to "Abolish ISA" the crowd thinned out progressively, until the coppers came to harass.

What matters isn't the one-off gathering that takes place to show the transient grief of an emotional people. What's needed is sustained pressure from the people as a whole. For that, we need a political awakening.

True what is mentioned above - where was the grief in all the earlier deaths? Were they of no significance? Of course not!

As gross at it may sound, sometimes it does take for blood to be spilled before the mind & heart wakes up. So, it may take just a few more drops of blood before the balance is tipped for Malaysians ruled by Fear and Apathy, to wake up.

Lets just hope that the blood spilled wouldn't be one drop too many .....

That is right, it doesn't cost anything to just click and become a member.

It's very disheartening that most people just won't do more!
